The people involved in making the important decisions have to show why they are in those positions. We need to stay positive and focus on what we can control. Matches can be rescheduled and alternative opponents can play against the B & I Lions. If it means that the B & I Lions can play against the Stormers on Saturday and against the Bulls on an alternative day, it would not bother me. South African, British and Irish fans want to see rugby of the highest possible quality. When the decision was made that the tour will go ahead in South Africa, the people in charge would have had to make provisions for possible Covid-19 related setbacks.
I sincerely hope that all parties involved are busy ironing out the problems. If the Springboks have to play Georgia next week, it is fine, but they have to play another match. The way things are going at the moment, coupled with the news about R.G. Snyman and Eben Etzebeth, I am not sure how the Springboks can be prepared for that first test. If the Springboks do lose the series history won't show that we lost it under difficult conditions. The Springboks committed to play and it is time for Jurie Roux and his team to earn their salaries.
The world does not care how many times the All Blacks say they had food poisoning in 1995. They lost and that is how it is written in the history books. Covid-19 is already taking so much joy away from us so move games if you need to, but we need this as rugby fans.
